starting issues

my 03 expedition hesitates when starting when engine is cold. after is does start it sputters a little bit until I press on the gas. Once up and running all is well. This only seems to happen when the car is sitting for a couple of hours. any suggestions??

Check and see if it's throwing any codes. Probably the just IAC valve. Take it out and clean it or just replace it all together.

My taurus had the exact same problem. If it ain't the IAC valve it might be the egr vacuum regulator(solenoid). That's what mine was. Only gave me problems when it was sitting more that a few hours.
