01 expedition front drive shaft

01 expedition front drive shaft

My front drive shaft boot is torn. is there a replacement? my friend is a ford mechanic at a dealership and he said the drive shaft is 'non-serviceable'. which means i got to buy a whole new shaft. so basically i have to get the 'shaft' twice.

I believe he is correct. You'll have to get a new shaft. Unless, you somehow can find a way to replace just the boot but don't think you can do that anymore.

The labor to replace the boot is probably close to the cost to replace the shaft...get a new shaft.

well true if i get it done at a dealer! but not if i buy a boot and put it on myself, which is what i was hoping for.
