Anyone have a vacuum diagram for installing a holley 4160 on a 302? I know absolutley nothing about running the vacuum lines for the carb, all i can find in books and online is "hook up the lines they way they used to be" which doesn't really help too much. Thanks!
It depends on what year engine and what vacum operated accesories are on it. The big vac. line goes to the brake booster. The small ones go for vac. advance etc..
Some are full vac. and some are ported. If you can give us more info, we can be more specific in helping.
OK, motor is a 1990 302 out of an F-150 4x4
Its now installed in a 1982 mazda RX-7
Vacuum ports on the carb are one large, one medium, and two small
theres one vacuum port on the dizzy(duraspark)
one for the brake booster
one that leads to the gas tank
and theres also one? coming off the oil filler neck
I'm gonna draw up a diagram of what I've got and post it.
The large on the carb goes to the brake booster and can be tee'd off to the pcv valve. The dizzy can use either of the small ones, the difference being- the lower small one gives full vacum all the time and the higher one gives vacum in relation to throttle. I would try the upper one first and see how you like the amount of advance it gives. I'm not sure about the one that leads to the gas tank or the one coming off the filler neck. If you don't end up using some off the ports on the carb, you can cap them off. Looks like a killer project you have there.
