Plastic Interior Trim

All of the plastic trim inside of my canyon red 1985 F-150 has turned from a bright canyon red to a burgandy/pink color and has become so dried out that it scratches every time my seatbelt goes back. I am referring to the interior trim that is behind the cab, around the seatbelts, covering the cab pillars, and beside the door. Can all of this trim be removed and painted? What kind of preparation would be required, and what kind of paint should I get?

They make vinyl spray paint that works perfect for plastic trim, I believe it's made by duplicolor. As far as prep, just scuff the surface with a brillo pad or something similar, also low grit sandpaper works too, like 220 grit with very light pressure, don't wanna take off the texture of the plastic just wanna scratch it so the paint will stick better, 2 coats of paint will give you good even coverage.

If you are going to paint it don't use duplicolour, SEM makes a better paint for plastic with sand free primer, but if the plastic is that brittle the paint will probably just flake off
