Did the mod...works perfectly on my 2004 EB. But one thing confused me....
Excellent! It's great when users use the search function and add to older posts, thanks for the pics! I too was a bit surprised at the location of the GPS receiver when I started investigating these units. I also have the aftermarket Pioneer Z2 GPS NAV on my F150. I had the receiver on the front fender near the radio antenna but it ended up falling inside the engine compartment/fender well. It still has a really strong signal with no line of sight. I guess that just goes to show how sensitive these units are.
There is a ground wire through the parking brake switch. If you install a single pole single throw rocker switch on that wire and ground the other side of the switch you can tell the system that the parking brake is engaged and it should allow you to enter the functions menus.
