Been looking to make some upgrades and was wondering what tuner seemed to be the safest with reasonable use? Would like to know mileage aquired with mod and if you believe the mod caused you problems (head gaskets, trans).

not trying to be smart but is this a trick question? it mainly depends on the person and how they drive as per life of the truck. if you want mileage, dont add power. just drive reasonably. for most people, the safest tuner is the one left on the shelf.
i added a tuner to a 300ZX twin turbo @ 130000 miles, went with the mild tune because of the mileage, absuolutely loved it for 50K more miles 0 problems...except for the clutch
sold the Z for the 6.0 intending to tune, ooppss didn't do enough research
i MIGHT tune with upgraded head bolts after warranty

That is one thing i won't do unless my truck starts to run rough. Bring it to the dealer. I have heard too many bad stories about "dealer reflashed my truck, and now it smokes, less power, and poor fuel mileage" If it isn't broke don't bring it to the dealer
No Reflash for me!

I also had a 300zxTT, 400 or so at the tire for 5 years (I did once nuke a turbo, though with stock tuning, go figure =o)
Did you have the Jim Wolf ECU upgrade?
