Angry Cab Door Hinges?

I started striping the paint of my cab today. Started to remove the doors but the screws in the hinges will not turn any one have any ideas other than drilling them out. Hope this is not a dumb question. RUSTY

I had the heat mine almost to the glowing point to get them out and a few still broke off. After you get them off you can remove the backing plate from the inside and remove the rest of the bolt. Mine also had a spot weld at the bottom of each hinge that i had to cut, I don't know if this is the case with all of them though.

A few doors that I removed from different cabs also had been spot welded.

I remove the screws in the following way. First, I lubricate them for a few days from both sides of the screws. Second, I use an impact wrench with a phillips head adapter large enough to fit completely into the slotted head. I then gently try to reverse the screw. If it gets stuck, I screw it back in and try again using plenty of lubricant.

Usually, I only have only about one break off out of the 16.

I'd take a look inside the post first to see what shape the screws/plates are in. If the post itself is all rusty, ("Rusty50F-1"???), you could do some damage trying to get them out other than by drilling. There is no real downside to drilling if you do it right (drilling off just the heads) and you can literally be done in 15 minutes...

I like heat The only problem with heating them is I usually wreck one screw driver. I also us a hardended tip phillips head screw driver.

When you say you use an impact, do you mean a hand impact that you whack with a hammer, or an air impact.

I need to get the doors off my cab to line up the feature lines before we finish the chop, but have already snapped 1 out of 1 screws I have tried

You can use either, but the hammer-wrench is where you risk the most damage.

PB Blaster the screws from both sides for a few days, then use an air-impact wrench to remove them. Make sure that you also use a tightly, or as tight as possible, fitted screw driver adapter head on the impact wrench.
