I went with XM in my wife's SUV, still trying to figure out how to make it work in my OEM radio in my F-250. I went with XM for several reasons, like I'm not a big Stern fan, and since I am a much bigger football fan than I am a baseball fan I will most likely be watching the games instead of listening to them. I think either of them would be fine, but since I have already purchased the XM I think I will stick with them.
And for Ultramagdan, is that a C-90 in your avatar?
We have XM and love it, but I have heard Sirus is pretty good too. Both are much better than trying to find new local stations as you travel down the road!
I swapped my CD6 for a Pioneer DEH-7800MP. I had an aux input in my Expedition with an XM Commander, but I wanted something integrated into the head unit in this vehicle... and the factory stereo doesn't offer that as an option.
Also, if you want, you can run XM and Sirius both through the Pioneer. Who knows, I might do that some day.
I have both in my F250, however rarely do I actually turn on the XM. Because of Clearchannel owning a percentage of XM, I find it to have way too many commercials in which I feel I'm paying to hear.
On Sirius with my Pioneer I don't get as much info on my screen, but I have this service to listen to, not to see. I find Sirius has much better programming and very little advertising if any. They also will be snagging alot of GM (XM) listeners by having Nascar next year.I feel that Sirius will pass XM with subscribers in the near future, so I suggest you get on board as soon as possible and find out for yourself.
Also, Apple (Ipod) is working on a piece with Siruis, and that will be big.
I had XM, now have Sirius. I like the programing on sirius better,,Plus Howard
Howard is the main reason I made the switch from XM to Sirius
I have yet to be dissapointed with the music programming, and Howard is better than ever!!!!!!!
Artie Lange is the BEST addition to the show!!!
MAC HINE is still the best producer!!
I am leaning towards getting sirius only because I am on the road sometimes during the weekends and want to listen to my nfl football teams and XM doesn't have it. Besides, we have XM in the wifes H2!
1) NFL
2) Lots of College Games (I'm a WVU alum and I love catching football and basketball while running around.
3) Howard and Bubba
4) NASCAR in '07
5) NBA and NHL if you're into those sports
6) Excellent Music programming - great rock stations
Sirius for over 2 years now. Love the programming. Awesome music stations with no commercials at all on music channels and relatively few commercials on the talk channels.
And the sports are great.
I question the "better coverage" statement by an XM user. I live in PA and only lose signal when I go through a tunnel.
Sirius all the way like has already been said, better music selection, Howard and Bubba the Love Sponge, NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAA basketball and football, NASCAR in 07, and I drive 15-16 hours a day and the only time I lose my signal is in tunnels, Sirius has 4 satellites and XM only has 2 if I remember right, but either way, signal is not an issue
NHL on Sirius tipped the scale for me. However, now I hear that my team is gonna be on XM.................you can't win.
As far as the music goes, I do like the lack of commercials. On the other hand, I seem to hear a lot of repeat songs. How is XM on this issue?
