odd spot for replacement tach wire for remote start.

I recently had my remote start fixed because the truck would crank but never turn over. I had Ultimate Electronics fix my the problem. The problem they told me was that it was that the tach wire for the remote start system corroded. What is odd about it is that when they put the new wire in they tapped directly into the #1 injectory wire. To me that doesn't seem right. Was that the only place they could splice into?

any info is appreciated.

Jason

See if you can find the instructions for your model on the internet and see what they say about it. All they want is a signal to verify the engine is turning. The injectors won't fire if the engine is not turning.
