'53/'56 Air Deflector
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Apr-02 AT 07:37 AM (EST)]I posted an earlier question about using '56 headlight buckets in a '53 grille (for that frenched look). I was told I needed '56 air deflectors because of the deeper buckets. I pulled off my grille and I think I lucked out and already have '56 deflectors. My deflectors have a pear shaped depression behind the bucket, about 5" X 8" and 1" deep. Are these '56 or are they '53? How do I tell for sure?

it sounds like you have the '56 deflectors. i just got back from pigeon forge '02 supernationals. i noticed all the '56's, in the swap meet area, had this pear shaped indention. i'd be interested in knowing how difficult/easy this mod is. i have a '54 that i wish to do the same with. i plan on getting the kit offered by mid-fifty (800-252-1956). let me know something, if you don't mind.
