I have this clicking noise comming from under my left valve cover.
It does this after I first start a cold engine.
Now I have noticed that the alt. gage hand moves with this clicking sound. It only last for 45 sec to 1 min. What could this be?
thanks,

It's the glow plug relay (GPR). The volt meter moves due to the high current draw on the GP's. It cycles on and off until the engine is warm. Ususally about 1-2 minutes. The GPR is under the decorative cover and the passenger side and looks like a starter relay.
I just went out and started my truck and tried to locate where the noise was comming from and it comming from the glow plug relay, that's before I read the reply.
