I've been feeling blue (PMS-blue that is) for the last year due to not being able to mod my truck any. Well I found a partial cure (at least for now), On Monday I drove all the way down to Lead Hill Arkansas to meet Brian Thompson (of BTS Fame) for a Tuesday morning meet. He is a nice and very friendly fellow. Met some of his Family (and even Grandma, who knows more sports than most people!!) His shop is huge and clean. Everything organized and in it's place. He hooked me up with a total rebuild of my tranny (and Cale hooked me up with a 6-pos chip.) and also a 6.0 tranny cooler. It took from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm to do the tranny and another 1/2 for the chip. Went out on a test drive, I was afraid to really hammer it, but it shifts good. (later, after putting on 600 miles did a couple of good runs and it is sweet)
What a difference between the factory tranny and his rebuild. I drove it all night and got home (in Chicago) about 11:30 PM Tuesday. It now shifts firm and clean. No banging or long hang times. Shifts where you would expect them. I now have a 4 speed again. No more TQ lock and next gear at the same time.
Got to go get some shut eye.... see ya in the AM...

Glad to hear you like the BTS. Did you call ahead of time to set the appointment? Man, I just Yahoo mapped that trip last week. The paper I printed it out on will probably be old and yellow by the time I use it though.
Congrats again. I think you made a good choice. No, great choice.

I had made an appointment to coincide with a planned vacation I was taking for the Thanksgiving holidays. He is booked well in advanced and I wanted to make sure he had time for me.
You can stand by the rebuild and observe everything he does and any question you have he answers. He will even show you where the failures were occuring in the old trans. I wish I knew more about this so I could ask more intelligent questions, but also I did not want to distract him from his work. He makes it seem so easy.
If you stay over-night, there is the Sugar load inn that has some very nice rooms, and reasonably priced. Only about a mile from BTS.
Also watch out for the nasty FOG! Missed BTS's road even though I knew exactly where it was. Had to make a U at the next drive way.
