Alright, I got a 86 bII with a 2.9. had a fuel problem, and bypassed the fuel pumps to a switch.drove it around the neighborhood, and parked it.next time I tried to crank, wouldn't start.checked fuel system, working ok.battery is ok.checked spark, no spark from coil.VERY intermittantly get spark for a few rotations.don't have wiring diagrams,so I replaced the ignition module.still nothing.replaced coil.still nothing.I don't know where to go next.I hope it's not the computer.I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
One of the first things I would do would be to pull codes from the computer. Sometimes there are clues left in the computer's memory.
What is the fuel pressure?
Are the fuel injectors firing?
Will it start on starting fluid (even briefly)?
Is the computer located in the passenger side kick panel like my `90? Just to make sure there's no water damage &/or corrosion in the plug, unbolt the plug & pull it out. When I did this with mine (long story), one of the corroded pins from the computer came right out with the plug. There was my intermittant problem.
AL.
I meant to tell you guys, I tried to pull codes, w/ testlight.the light just stayed on. I checked the computer, there was a little corrosion, but nothing major. put it back thgether, but still nothing. any other idears??

That sounds to me like you didn't get a good connection when jumpering STI to SIG RET. Or maybe the computer isn't getting power (which would also explain why it won't start). If it were me, I'd continue trying to get codes until you figure out why you couldn't get codes.
