So the torque converter basicly blew up in my truck, so does anyone think the tranny will be rebuildable or should I break out the butter and jam, then use my other core, which is a 2wd so I would have to make it 4wd
In order to get the front pump out I had to pop the pan off, remove the valve body and then very easily and carefully pry or push on the front cover or even the gear set. It might be stuck good, so if you can get a blunt punch in there you might try smacking it with a rubber or deadblow mallet.
when you use slide hammers you have a threaded bolt on the end of the slide hammer kinda like the normal pump bolts are for securing the pump to the housing. You just screw the end into the pump (as if you were putting a bolt in) until its tight n just slide hammer til its loose, it should take 2 or 3 times to get it out

You sure, Is it a Big block C6 or small block C6?? because all the c6 transmissions ive done ive been able to use the slide hammers, but if they arent you will just have to try finding a puller tool made for the job or figure out a way.
OK yeah i just checked my big block C6 from '79. I was lookin at it and You will need a puller that clamps around the front pump shaft (about 1 3/4 in diameter) with the input shaft inside it. The puller is kinda like steering wheel puller using the big bolt you turn (pushing on the input shaft) while it pulls off the pump. so half inch drive rachet n 3/4 socket should be all you need besides the puller
I got the front pump out
I'm not sure what its called but I'll call it the intermediate drum, this is the drum in which the band clamps down on, It has some grooves and scaring on it do you think I can reuse it or will it have to be replaced
