New Transmission Problem
I have a 97 f-250 powerstroke with 244,000 miles on it. 5 months ago i went to dennys transmission shop in phoenix, az. my transmission was messing up and the overdrive light was blinking so i figured it needed a new transmission. Well he said i did so i bought a rebuilt transmission for $1600 and he replaced it. Well since he's finished it i've brought it back to him 6 times and he never fixes the problem that is happening now. When the truck is cold it shifts fine. but once it starts getting warm it starts shifting hard. And after 30 min or 1 hour of stop and go driving, it will get stuck in first gear and i'l have to punch it or let off the gas for it to shift. and it'll happen only once or twice while i'm driving. That tranny shop won't fix it so i'm trying to figure it out for myself. please help me.

Take it to a different tranny shop and have it scanned. Most will do it for free. Sounds like your tranny is going into 'Limp in mode'. It increases fluid pressures to stop slippage and doesn't allow it to shift past 2nd gear.
Do you have a trans temp gage? It may be getting hot or could be as simple as the TFT (trans fluid temp) sensor gone bad.

sounds like they sold you a trans from phoenix retrans aka phoenix hard parts. if so your life is only starting to get bad.your only hope is to have a reputable shop overhaul it for you
