Question Horn problems...

I bought my 82 F-150 was from some guy ripped alot of the wiring apart. I found a green wire near the horn and hooked it up but nothing happened. I tryed new fuses, I disconnected the horn and hooked it directly to the battery, and it does work. Is there anybody that can give me a clue of how to get it hooked up right?

Do you have Speed Control (Cruise)? Horn circuits are different with Speed Control than without. Without Speed Control the circuit is like this: From fuse block Fuse #16 (20A.) follow Yellow/Light Blue dots (Y/LBd) wire to splice where one wire goes to Horn Switch circuit (up Steering Column) and other to Cigar Lighter. From Horn Switch Dark Blue (DB) wire down column to connector where it mates with Yellow/Light Green hash (Y/LGh) to horns.
