the instrument cluster in my '78. I took out all the screws but I can't seem to disconnect the main wire connected to the back of the cluster. It's a weird connection, need some help
On my 79 I just had to squeeze the connector hub on the cable where it pushes in to the instrument panel, and just pull backwards on it. Never done a 78 speedocable, I would think it would be the same tho,
Just a thought - put a small bit of greese on the connection before putting it together. I use white lithium < the stuff used for boat trailer bearings.

I use White Lithium pre lube on all Engine and Gear box rebilts. Is this the same stuff? I use STP bearing grease on all wheel brg,s.
arcticyblock - Sounds like the same "stuff". We use it at work (spray can) for the pigtails between tractor/trailer connections too. Also works on battery posts. Geo.
Never thought of using it for that. We use Tacky Lube witch is an open heavy gear lube. Nasty stuff. I will compare the price as I am sure the Lithium is more spendy. But should work better as an open gear and chain lube in these freezing temps. At least it will wash out of gloves. Hows it work on 5th wheels? You don't use it on say front wheel bearings on your trucks do you?
arctic y block - The grease we use comes in a tube (for air grease guns) and is red. We buy it by the case. It can't be that expen$ive. I'll look tomorrow and get a brand & specific info. We also use the red stuff as a pre-lube when rebuilding trannys, etc.
