Interesting new engine or pipe dream?

I did a quick search on the forums to see if this had been posted, but I didn't find anything.

I read an ad for an invention competition and when I checked out the list of last year's winners, this was the First Prize Winner (not the grand prize).

The MYT Engine

I gave it a quick read but I was wondering what other people's opinions were or if there was other news about this engine. Seems to run on diesel, so I posted it here.

Sounds interesting. Not being a trained engineer, I don't understand exactly how it works.
However, I treat anything that sounds too good to be true with a degree of scepticism.
I also treat any source of information that has spelling errors with scepticism as well.
I'll be interested to hear if anyone else has some concrete knowledge about this thing!

There's not any documentation about that engine, but I see a spark plug on top of the right side ring.

And now that I've read the documentation, it seems to have a lot of promise.
One concern that I would have is the engine has 32 firing pulses per revolution, that makes a lot of heat. This engine (I would think) would need a massive cooling system to support that 800+ HP figure that they are advertsizing.
I think it's greatest promise in an application that one would expect it to last is something like a compressor pump or some other thing where an external engine drives it.

It's hard to tell when someone is almost "religious" about such an invention whether the invention is truly a new, ingenious item or a fundamentally flawed idea. Especially because I am not an engine expert.

Seems to me that they haven't done much testing with fuel, just compressed air. In addition, they advertise very high compression ratios. Wouldn't this cause a large increase in NOx emissions when burning a fuel? Guess there's some development to be done yet.

Still an interesting machine though.
