Hello everyone
hello my name is Joseph and I just bought a 79 Ford F-150 4x4 ext cab for $300 the only thing wrong with it is it has no reverse did I get a good deal? I look foward to get help from you all here i've read some of the topics and i have already learned alot thanks ahead of time

welcome to FTE. 300 sounds like a good deal to me. it will make the fix up on your trans way more justifed. its not so bad to fix something,if the total cost of the truck,and the needed repairs aren't to high.-billy

Thanks for all the replys the body is in good shape they drove it until the reverse went out then they took it to a tranny shop and they said the reverse was out but they did replace the transmission filter. they only reason they sold it was they couldn't find a tranny. it was $500 with the toolbox but I didn't need a tool box so i got it for 300 as soon as i get some pics taken i'll post em'

lol couldnt find a tranny? c-6's are cheap and really common... i have one sitting in my garage right now with nothing wrong with it... its a spare for my 1978 f250 4x4... paid 300 for the 73 tbird i got it and a 429 out of, and scrapped the body

How do ya get the adobe that is left at the alamo to burn needing a fire fighter? HAAA Just kidding. Nice score. Overhaul the tranny your self. It's easy and the kit comes with instructions.

well i got the truck home it's a 1985 not a 79 ford f150 xlt lariat ext cab auto 2 wheel drive but it runs smooth needs a little paint but that's no big deal all it needs is the taillight wiring harness the connector on the frame is still there and a new center console between the seats
