4x4 clunking
I have a 1983 F-150 4x4. When it is in 4 wheel drive it works fine while going straight. When I turn left there is a wicked bad cluncking sounds like the front axle shaft is just flopping around. Checked whill stopped I can reach in a wiggle the shaft alittle but wiggls the same on both sides.
Any ideas?

depends on your skill. It isn't that difficult IMO, but i have done it quite a few times. You have to tear the whole spindle down. The only special tool you should need is an axle nut socket- about $15. the wheel joints are no more expensive than normal u joints so ~$20
