Im looking at a used brush guard off a 2004 or 2005 f150 super crew and the guy selling it says this will not fit 06 and up trucks due to the wider frame. is this true?

 

As far as I know the Body style is the same for 2004+.

 

I just bought a used Go Industries Big Tex guard off a friend of mine because he had it on an '04 and bought a new '06 and it would not fit. The frame width isn't really different, but the frame horns and bumper are different on an '06, so the guard wouldn't fit. He even tried to see if he could get new brackets, but no luck. Just be careful. He called the manufacturer and they were able to tell him what would work. He bought the same guard, but when we looked at the brackets and mounting locations, they were off by a few inches. Good luck.
