If that's what you really want you may be stuck running "want to buy" ads in one or more places. Hemmings, www.hemmings.com, did not even have any B II's listed at this point but you can run a cars wanted ad with them.
I occasionally see a couple around here in Clinton Township, MI and surrounding area, but only saw one earlier this year worth fixing up and was well within price cat. Never found out the mileage, though. It was up N Gratiot Ave a mile or so S of M-59. A place called Michael's Used something or other.
O it was a rwd driveline with a dummy transfer case, though. Don't remember much else except one of the most solid looking B II's since I was in my teens.

Reason: Another note
Dude, I just checked ebay, there's an 89 with 86,000, an 89 with 71,000, an 85 with 100,000 and an 88 with 110,000, all bronco II's with in your price range with alot of change left over, I'm not seeing your plight unless you want one with 20,000 miles and that ain't gonna happen. Anyone with a good body and a 100,000 miles or less should work for you. You have 6,000.00$ to spend and one of these would cost, lets say 1,500 or so, leaves you alot of extra doe to fix it up, lift kit, bigger tires, or whatever and then money left over for a big screen. I would love to have an 88 bronco II with the 2.9 v6 4x4, with manual hubs and tranny with a nice body for 1,500.00, thats if I had the 1,500.00 ha ha. Thats what I'm sorta thinking for my next project. I want an 88 because I like that body style and that was the first year I believe for the M5OD manual tranny. I really don't see a shortage, unless we have a different view of low mileage, to me it's under 100,000 miles.
Yes, I got your point but I am not mechanically inclined, I would rather buy it all done up if you know what I mean and pay more. Ive been eyeing that one in Ohio with like 85k but he wants 3500 buy the time I fly out and get it it will be over 4, a bit steep but its clean.
I live in ohio, maybe I should buy it, "nope" it's gotta be an 88. A clean body is everything, anything else can be fixed, either by you or a mechanic. For 3,500, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it, it should be a turn key. New York isn't that far away, couldn't you and the wife or buddy just drive down and get it, sorta make a road trip out of it, may be fun. I need to look at ebay and see which one your looking at, I'll be back in a minute.
Its this one, reserve just not met yet. 3500 was the BIN however after a carfax, it shows accident report, however the dealer knows nothing about that and claims it doesnt look like it, I know carfax can sometimes be wrong. I found many MINT B2 in FL but of course they were all 4x2s wont work for me.
OK, I found the one you are talking about in ohio, it's an 89, what through me, was you said 3,500 and the highest bid so far is 2,555. That one doesn't look bad, but it's in ohio and we salt in the winter time. Check out the blue 88, it only has 110,000 miles, it's 4x4, 2nd owner, not smoked in, mostly garage kept, all maintence has been kept up, runs great, all power options work, interior like new except for one small tear in drivers seat, and it's in South Carolina, a mild winter state. 88 has the better look than does 89, it has the first generation bronco/ranger look which is the best and original. Body looks mint, no rust, it's been under coated, and the highest bid is only 1,280, the 88 is the better buy between the 2 bronco's and the 88 is an automatic as well. Take a trip down south and pick up your new bronco, stop by Myrtle beach, play with it in the sand. THERE'S YOUR BRONCO II, 88, mint body, decent miles, great color, everything works and runs great, garage kept and the price is right. I don't see it bidding over 2 grand. It looked like the front bumper might be tweaked a hair but no biggy for the price and southern body, go get it killer ha ha.
Hey, thanks for the advice, I appreciate it...LOL That is not a bad looking truck, just has to make sense to go thorough the trouble to go that far to get it but I guess the "no salt" in the winter is enough.

Reason: just want to
I've gone a ways to get vehicles, I'ld rather deal with anything other than rust. My 89 jeep comanche was out of texas. My next project will be an 88 bronco II, or 87-91 jeep yj wrangler and I will be looking south when I'm ready to buy. Like I say, have fun with it, make a road trip enjoyable and you have the added excitement of bring back a cool rust free classic little bronco. Just e-mail the seller and tell him you want to buy now, offer him two grand to close the auction, pick it up over thanksgiving break, or just keep bidding to get it possably cheaper, Anyway, good luck to you and lets us know what you end up with.
Good Lord man, thats only 200$ more than what I figured you could get it for, I said 2,000. You had 6,000 to spend, your still way head of the game with a classic southern rust free truck. Your starting to nicle and dime now, when you started this post, you said ranger prices were to high and couldn't find nothing for 6,000. Put you on bronco II's that you really wanted for a 3rd of that, now get off that money pile and go get your truck ha ha. You'll find one, just hang in there.
Well, I am also looking at full size Broncos, I added that to my list incase I find a good one. They will use all my money but I like them also but still would take a B2 over a full size if I found the right one. Are you near cincinatti maybe you can look at that other one for me that is on ebay.
I'm up on the lake outside of Cleveland, "sorry". OJ made the big bronco famous, prices should have died down a little since then, white ones were hot for a while. One will come along, just take your time and buy smart, the good deals come along when you don't expect it, I allways find good deals when I'm not looking, that sorta sucks.
