4x4 expe drivetrain problems
Anyway I'm now getting a clunking sound coming from the rear I think. I was told it could be the clutch pack of the LSD. Its stating to happen when I make slow U-turns or almost full turns, feels like the lsd in over reacting. I figured i'll try to manipulate the system so I put it on 4hi thinking it would lock but now I noticed it's having a really hard time making a turn. There is a bad humming noise.
I've owned my truck since new and only serviced in ford. Last service they did they said they changed the fluids in the diff (at least that's what I remember) and it had a small leak in one of the hubs (which was fixed)? When I got it back this happened. I pretty sure my 4hi never maid noises like this, you know that feeling when your sure it wasn't like this normally but now your not sure.
Anyway what do you guys think? Could it be just the clutch pack for the lsd? Where can I find this part online?
Or do you think it's something else?

I removed fuse 104 and now it's not acting up?
Can someone please explain what this fuse really does?
Accorting to ford my rear axle oil was never changed becuase it's a lifetime thing. Is this true? Why does my receipt say it's been changed? Are they just covering thier behind because they may of used the wrong oil?
I'm confused, anyone?
Dave
I've done searches reagarding fuse number 104 which to my understanding some say it only disables the switch while some say it disables the motor so it won't transfer power into the front axle. Accoring to Ford my truck is always on 4 wheel drive.
I'll give you the complete picture on what happen to my truck. I had it service at around 97k and had the 100k service. They did everything from tune up to change all the fluids. Mind you nothing wrong with my truck before this. After I got my truck back it didn't feel right. Basically within 3000 kilometers I had to retun my truck to ford because of vibrations coming from my engine. After the 4th back job which was last week it seems to have finally been fixed. Well I hope so anyway.
Then this thug started happening. Called the old service advicesor who is a good friend and he asked if the changed my diff fluid using the right oils. looked through my receipts and sure enough it says front and rear axle oils replaced and transfer case oil. Also replace left and right rear axle seals. Called ford and told them about the problem and they said they never replaced the oil in the rear since it's a lifetime thing. Why would it be in the receipt to begin with? They are probably covering their bums because of whats happened already.
I remembered about the fuse 104 and as soon as I removed it that thug/lsd thing dissapeared. So does that mean the front axle is acting up which they did "service" on?
So my question is what does the 104 fuse really do? Because whatever it controls looks to be the problem.
Thanks
