where did the pic come from what show?
i bet if the doors were closed and we had a clean profile shot... opions would be different
This pic is from NOPI Nationals in Atlanta,GA. I like the look of a dually with semi truck wheels and tires on them. Looks big and mean. But I do not like the doors.
I got no problem w/20" wheels if you have 37" rubber but for some reason the skinny A/T tires on Big Wheels rub me the wrong way.
I would agree with you on that.
Whats worse is one of my boss's Trucks. Hes has a H2 with 24 inch rims with 38 inches of rubber. That truck makes me wanna puke along with the 7-8 mpg he gets in the city.
Seems they have more money than good taste. That is one ugly truck.
TOTALY agree!! what happen to the good'ol days of the 15's (yea i know they woun't fit on the SD's but still), and the 16's, and yes the 16.5's!?!?! i can see a 17 (since some tire mfg's are skipping the 16.5 now days), or MAYBE an 18 (tops in my book), but when you get the 35 rolling on 24's c'mon people..........there was a pictures of trucks (including SD's) that had like 24+ inch rims on them..........they looked ssssoooooo like a F'd up hotwheels car that i wouldn't even spend the $0.88 on!
i have 16.5's, the ONLY, and i mean ONLY reason i am thinkin of a 17" wheel is due to the 41x14.5 IROK radials skipping over the 16.5" rim size! i'm looking for some 16 or 17's at a good price!
but then again, you gotta remember, those "low rider" guys look UP at our lifted truck (ford's chevy's and dodge's) and go "why the helzz would you do that to a truck............" as we look WWWAAAAYYY down at there cars (and trucks) and go "what the helzz is the point of that (except for drag racing)"!..............to each his/her own, BUT LIFTED IS better!
I'm not in to the big rim thing either. IMO anything bigger than 18's or possibly 20's make the tires look smaller...
There are so many '85 cutlasses in this area jacked up on 24's that I wouldn't buy big rims just so that I wouldn't be supporting the whole "movement."
The suicide doors could be a nifty option, the lambo doors, thats a bit much. The big problem I have is the thing is nearly undrivable. 4 steering stabilizers is a bit much even for a truck that large, plus, look at the angles the steering linkage is at. Plus in my opinion, anyone who cooks up those crazy bent trac bars should have their business license pulled. A truck that large should be runninng either a full hydro setup, or a modified rack and pinion mounted directly to the axle. In its current setup, that truck is gonna have bump steer so bad the chances of a rollover are increased exponentially. In my opinion, if you have the money you should be able to trick out your rig with as much bling as your warped psychie will allow, but it still must be safe to drive.
Bling, Bling, Bling. What a bad joke. I always laugh when I see them raise a turck a foot plus and end up with maybe 1" more ground clearance than stock. So what's the purpose other than to show it? To each his own, not my style.
At least the tires will wear for many miles, being truck tires they should wear for a long time and corner good and he'll never have to worry about overloading them. It sure doesn't look usable, wouldn't be able to get a load of wood with it, wouldn't be able to pull a goose neck with it either.
That is it's sole purpose, to look cool, make people go "ooh, ahhh." It's not designed or built to be able to hook up to a huge gooseneck or even haul firewood. Someone that rich probably doesn't know what fire wood is.
