My son and I am curious if it is difficult to convert from coil springs to leafs in the front and putting longer ones in the rear. I want to raise it a couple of inches easily and inexpensively and I know I can get them from the wrecking yard. If so how would I go about doing it. He has the Exploder and I have a 92 F-150 4x4 and we got idea when I noticed that the F-250's sit higher stock and I have a 3" body lift on mine and just want a little more lift and don't want to go the route of buying a whole suspension kit either.
Thanks,
Kallie and Chantz
you want to run a leaf pack on your TTB? Youll need to fab a flat spot onto you I beam for the leaf to sit. Then youll need to mount a spring hanger and a shackle hanger on each side for the leaf packs up front. Easily and inexpensively just went out the window unless you can fab parts yourself because youll need I-beam drop brackets also.
you can get 2" front the ghetto fab way....with coil spacers or lowering the coil buckets down lower on the frame 2". Then get some adjustabe camber bushings to fix the camber.
Wouldnt call lowering the towers ghetto, alot of peole do it that way, thats how I did mine. It's alot better than spacers, and you can get an exact amount of lift to level a truck out perfectly.
