did you run a cylinder contribution test on the new injectors? you might have some bad injectors. a buddy of mine put in beans stage 2 singles and had a problem with idleing. we found out that the injectors were bad. because they just put the nozzles on an edm machine to wire out the holes larger and on my friends truck some of the holes were larger than others so there was an uneven spray of fuel from cylinder to cylinder. he sent the injectors back and bean sent back some injectors that had been extrude honed and the holes were all the same size and now his truck runs great.

Mucktown,

Jody is sending me a new PCM. Hopefully that will solve my problem.
As for the injectors, I never thought about the new injectors being bad. That could always happen. I ordered new injectors instead of rebuilt ones. I didn't get the rebuilt ones because my end cost was going to be about the same.

Now, I have a beef! Why can the car makers all decide to call the same item by the same name?! Yesterday it drove me nuts. Fianlly, after about 4 hours, someone was nice enough to inform me that a EMC and a ECU and a PCM were all the same thing. Its just that each car maker calls their computer by a different name. I had been running around (on my computer and telphone) thinking my truck had each one of those computers along with an IDM. (You can really tell that I'm a novice!) And I had been fiddeling around with my PCM installing Jody's chip. I spent hours looking all over for my ECM, going back and forth on the phone with parts dealers! Well, know I know to ask a seemingly silly question about a parts name! I'm learning!

Paradiseandpalms try being a professional in this field. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to describe to the sales rep at the other end of the phone exactly what I want sometimes down to the part number.
In the last 20 years the inventory requirements and information requirements on vehicles has balloned to nearly unmanagable levels. A repair manual, if you were to attempt to put it on papar, would be several inches thick. Some of the luxury models would have manuals that are several feet across.

The new PCM from Jody did not change anything in a positive way. It made the loping/rough idle seem faster. I tried it with the DP chip and with out it. So, I guess I need to take the truck to an auto electrician. I'll check on that when I get back in town from the Thanksgiving Holidays.

while your mechanic was replacing the injectors, did he do a thorough check of the rocker arms and rods? could this be a mechanical problem (Stuck or burnt valve, HG leak, etc) instead of chasing electronic ghosts?

I never understand why some of these guys won't do a compression test while they have these things open like that.... I'm not talking about the shadetree guys... but the ones who do this for a living, lol.

I can't either. A good running engine must have the foundation in place for everything else to be able to function properly.
