3. Part numbers for recommended Ford replacement COP, IAC & PVC elbow.
4. Thought the '97-'99 E-series was 275 / 390...not 100% sure though.
5. Remove the word "The" at the end of the Flutter "discussion".
6. You should really go out and change your sparkplugs again and take really good pics...and while you're out there, do the IAC, too! Oh...and wait until it gets real cold out! Once it snows you can get pics of heat shields & bellhousing cover that is usually the "cause" of the flutter. Plus you can get pics of the VSS while you're under there. Make sure you're laying in snow. It will help make the picture brighter.
7. Put a picture of a hot chick in the FAQ.
Very nice, Art! I always wanted to do that! You've done an outstanding job so far!!!!!
On the flutter, the "ram's horn style" y-pipe was the early style. The later style Ford came up with is the "T" style y-pipe. Factory manifolds plus Y-pipe mods, Stan's, E-bay, Flowmaster, local muffler shop, have created a flutter. As far as headers and y-pipes, I thought we concluded they produced no flutter. At least the long style, Banks, Borla.
NoMo has a great post showing the difference between the two Y-pipes and other exhaust related stuff. Would be a good link or at least use the pictures off it.
Ken, I layed in snow to put my Ranchos on. I don't plan on doing it again
The "flutter" thing: Early SD's, 99-00 or thereabouts, as I read on this site back in 2001-2002, had flutter from the factory. Ford fixed it with that restricted Y-pipe.
If you ask me, the y-pipe on my 2001 looks like a ram's horn. But that's just me.
I will certainly take all your comments into consideration
Hot chick... Hmm... going to have to find one. I don't think I should use my niece, though, eh?
The best pics of the two different factory y-pipes are by the e-bay y-pipe guy, Item numbers 220050330200 and 220050329297 clearly show the two types. He used to post here so maybe he would let us have the pics for FAQ's?
