recently my shifter on my column on my 77' went out i think..i know its not the trnny. there is so much play in it it wont go in gear at all..i can move it in circles up down anywhere. im think maybe a bushinf or pin or something in the column.. any ideas please help.. this is my daily driver.. my other is a 65' f -100 with a big block 452 that i hate driving everyday
ok how do i get the part off??? i pulled my sterring wheel off but could get the collar off at all. i took every screw nut bolt whatever off and could not find a way to get it off. i rented the sterring wheel puler and need to return it as soon as possilbe. please any help....
You have to remove all the inards (shift lever, TS switch ,plate,Hazard light switch and the 3 allen headed screws accessed from the back of the cowl, undo the harness and pull it all off.
here is what happened. now im just waiting on the part.. i had to take a lock washer off, and 2 nuts at the bottom of the column where it connects to the steering gears...why can i not post a pic??? well anyways the inside of the collar totally broke....
