What about a NM Chapter?

I moved this out to the General Chapters Discussion area. It should get some better attention "up here". If you guys need something answered or "help" ask in here or send me a PM, I'll be happy to assist!

We're still here! For all the other New Mexicans, I'm game for getting in on a chapter. I live in Alamo, but go to school in Cruces every day of the week. (This semester anyway). Makes for a costly gas bill but financial aid helps. I won't tell you what my school car is, but my truck currently is a '77 F150 4x4. Thinking of picking up a '92. The old one is definitely not a highway vehicle!

Are we ready to take the next step?
Quoting 99Trigger3_0:
Is your region missing from the Chapters list? If you would like to organize a Chapter in your region please read the overview and submit a proposal when you are ready. Additionally, you are welcome to discuss starting a Chapter in the General Chapter Discussion forum.
Chapter Overview And Rules:
In order to start a Chapter you must have minimum of 5 FTE members willing to join. Each member must be an active FTE user for at least 30 days. The member organizing the Chapter must be an FTE user for at least 60 days.
Once the Chapter is formed, you must organize an off-line meeting of the Chapter to elect a Chapter Leader and any additional officers your Chapter may need such as secretary, treasurer, photographer, etc. Each Chapter needs to have one or more persons with a digital camera so Chapter related photos can be maintained in the Chapter Gallery.

Do we have the people to do something like this?
I see distance and relatively small numbers being an issue at this point.

I did a user/ Member search for NM... and it pulled up 20 pages of users. What I had to do to get the SC Chapter going was to go through those lists and find members of FTE in SC an PM as many as I could. Basically told them that I was interested in getting a FTE Chapter formed for the state of South Carolina, would they be willing to join.
As far as distance, maybe after the Chapter is established- you could find enough willing and able members to be Regional leaders (of some sort) to help spearhead meets and other activities of different areas.

Yes, somewhere in between Albuquerque and Las Cruces would be a good idea, I'm down in Las Cruces and I would be more than happy to drive up north though for a meeting now and then if this Chapter idea picks up, this is kinda off the subject but I found a flyer for a local Show and Shine in Alamogordo, NM on April 21, 2007, if your near check it out. I'm sure we would get a good turn out, just a little networking I would think.

We are a very large state with one of the smallest populations.
