Thanks for the help. My next question is, Does onyone sell a adapter plate in order to install a 302 engine in place of the original flathead 6? This truck has a 4spd trans. w/ PTO if that helps.

Check Advanced Adapters, and Offenhauser. Vintage Auto Parts (www.vapinc.com) in Woodinville Wa, has a bunch of odd adapters hangin from their ceiling. The adapter you seek should be available, since the Ford truck round tranny mounting flange, 8 bolts I think, is the same as the cars from 32-47 or something like that, so its a pretty common unit to find for the Small Block Ford, which also would fit the 240/300 6 if I remeber correctly, or the (sacrelige) SBC. I thinkther is at least one other company that makes these adapters, but I cant think of the name.
