Hello all, and thank you in advance for the help...

The Problem:
No running lights or dashlights when I turn on the headlights on (head lights do come on and high-beams also work). Also there is no indicator "bing" when you shut off the vehicle with the lights on.
I first thought it was a fuse, but all fuses under the dash seem to be fine. Another weird thing is that the running lights work and the truck "bings" when you open the door if you use the command start (which was in the truck when I bought it) to start the truck or open the doors. I have unplugged the command start unit also now to see if that was the problem, unfortunetly it wasn't. Does anyone have ideas?
Take your instrument cluster bezel off and pull your headlight switch. My Mustang had similar problems and it turned out that the headlight harness was melting and causing it to do funny things. I soldered in a repair harness and haven't had any problems since then.
Wow thanks for the quick reply!!! Just in the house warming up right now (stupid Winnipeg weather), then I'm going to go and rip the bezel of and check.... Thanks again....

C'mon, it's not that bad out today.
If you're still having problems, I'd suggest taking it to Advance on Portage Ave. Their guys are tops in the city for remote starters/problems.

No problem. I'm just sittin at work anyways, might as well do something productive.
Well, went back out, pulled off the bezel, the wires seemed to be fine, started the truck up, turned the head lights on heard a "click....ching", what the heck was that??? Shut them off, turned them back off same thing "click....ching". Stuck my head under the truck, turned the lights on again, "click....ching", holy smokes, the flippen starter was engaging for a split second. Now the power to the command start is unplugged, what the heck, lets unplug all the harnesses that go into it. Yee HAW!!! Got dash and running lights now!!! Looks like the remote starter decided to take a dive on me.... LOL next problem though is that now I don't have power locks since I unplugged the harnesses to the command start. No problems there though, I've installed these command starts on three of the Mustangs I've owned (88 4cyl and 88 and 89 5.0) and both of the Bronco II's that I've owned (86 and 87). I know the locks use the relays for the command starts, no biggie there.... Thanks all for the help, and yeah it's not so bad out here in Winnipeg, just cold enough to numb the fingers a little.....
Got her all fixed up now, I really hate dealing with someone elses wiring, the only thing I can compare it to is "it's like going to the dentist". Oh well, all fixed up (without command start now though). Thanks for all the advice....
