Let us know how it goes...I've done it a couple times and can explain something if you get caught up.
Well, I was going to explain more than that, like outline it for him, but I felt a manual would do a better job, and he needs one anyway, so we've gotta start with that first.
It's one of those things that if you have some decent mechanical skills and problem solving is not too difficult to you...it'll be a piece of cake.
The driveshaft just bolts to the differential, then it slides out. You really don't need to pull the trans out completely. Just unbolt it and slide it back far enough to get the old clutch and bearing out.
yes i kind of agree but i dont have much money and i have confidence that i can do it myself...and it will be a learning experience..i have done much work on my truck already
I just had givin to me about 2 months ago a 87 150 with 4.9 inline six with a 4 speed it needed engine and new clutch wasnt that hard took time patience a manual only other thing i can recomend i had so many nuts and bolts laying around wow i would say get a divided pan or label bags to put nuts bolts in and where they go just doing the clutch it might not be so bad well its up to you getting a decent manual is the best thing and renting or buying a puller for the pilot bearing if you plan on replacing it my clutch kit came with one so i replaced mine
