I just got an 89 f-150 with the 5.0 in her and she doesn't seem to want to idle. I asked a mechanic about it and he said that it was probably the idle air control valve. I was wondering if this is something that can be cleaned or should just be replaced. Also I seen a couple threads about a PCV line or something that should be checked.
If you want a cheap newer idle air control, I bought one off ebay for 1 dollar that came off a 97 3.0L taurus. I just had to go to the wreckers and get the wire connector froma taurus.
Works absolutely perfect and beats paying 150+ for a new one.
