They should. I sucessfully mated a 1989 M5R2 with a 1986 BW 1345, no problems at all. Works like a champ. The M5R2 originally had a 1356 hanging off of it. I drive the truck daily. Be forewarned you may end up with a fixed yoke rear output, which won't work with a slip yoke driveshaft. I had a custom shaft made for my 4x4 conversion.
