of course not, its illegal to watch a DVD in the front seats while the vehicle is moving. Hence you have to put it in park to be able to view a DVD. However, there are many ways to bypass it

Question wich one

i have a 06 lariat, im currious wich one do people like the best in there f150s...seems everone has the avic-z1 if you want a nav unit, the AVH-P6800DVD, iva-w200 or the DDX6019 for the regular dvd unit... i would like a dvd unit like one of these to, wich is the better unit for the truck, i would also still like to use the stering wheel controls that i already have, is this still possible? they all look to do the same thing...none of them have a advantage over the other besides the RDS function on the 6019, so what looks better in the f150? thanks for any help on helping me decide

pac makes may products that are used in the auto business. in order to watch a dvd, the truck must be in park with the e-brake on, the pac product is an interface that will send a signal to the unit to make it think it has the parkign brake set, it can also be used for many other features such as turning off parking aid when veh is started, turning off traction control when veh is started, turning of or off other functions that you may have. they also make steering wheel interfaces so you can use your factory steering wheel controls- as for what headunit to get, if you have factory steering wheel controls and want to use them, get a head unit that has a hard wired audio control like the avic-z1, it makes it easier to make the steering wheel controls work

The name of the company is PAC accessories, they make many products

the part # to what you need to watch the dvd while driving is pac tr-7
the one for the steering wheel controls is pac swi-ps if it is a hard wired head unit or pac swi-x for a universal one that uses the Inferred control tthe same as the remote control uses

Does the head unit use a negative or positive output to the parking break? And does the head unit pulse to the parking break?
