Hello Guys I'm a new guy on the great board! Just bought my first truck project, and trying to dial in what I have...My truck is a 55 with a 6cyl. I was told its a 1965 240, thats why I'm posting here. Can anyone confirm this for me. The number on the left side of the block is EBP-6015-L..
Any help would be great..
Also do any automatic transmissions bolt up behind this in a 55??
Thanks!!!
Derick
The 1955 engine is a 223 cubic inch engine. The distributer is on the passenger side and the exhaust & intke manifold are on the drivers side. If it is a 1965 engine, it would be a 240 or a 300 cubic inch, the distributer would be on the drivers side and the manifolds on the passenger side of the engine.
Thank you guys...Its seems the man who sold the truck, just didn't know...And since I'm new to this stuff, I didn't either...So far, from what I found out here, to all the helpful folks online. My truck most likely has the original engine. a 223. And the trans is a 1951 3speed with o/d. I'm learning.
Thank you!
