Hi, my name is chris also known as Styles on many other boards (need2speeed, SFFBA.net, F-bodyhideout, LS1tech. I have been big into performance vehicals but recently got into Diesel performance. I currently own a 1998 Camaro Z-28 6-speed. This is my race car and daily driver. I am looking into getting a 7.3 crew cab super duty very soon and would like to research more about the performance capabilities to these motors.
I was linked to this site by a member of another board after not being able to find a decent Diesle performance forum. Hopefully there is plenty of people here that can help me out with the tech and knowledge of a future vehical!
Thanks for the Welcome, not a huge responce but I will try better next time. As I am not new to furoms I noticed that sections, thanks for directing me towards that though. I love they way it is devided up. So far I have found no reason to try looking for another Forum for help, hopefully I can continue to post around here and gather as much info as possible.
Trust me I don't think you will need another site. This one is good. Welcome
Thank You!
Looked at a thread about GM's reliabilty, glad to see so many stand up people here, I thought it might have been a thread about bashing GM... LOL.. wonder what my Sponcors would say if they seen me in a Ford F-250 towing my camaro to the track...LOL, since they are a GM parts distributor.
I had a 96 Z/28 a couple years back. Had a 6spd as well. Awesome car. I got rid of it cause I only drove it about a dozen times a year.
I love my 98 m/6... put it out 340 RWHP/351RWTq with just a cat-back and an airlid. Most full bolt-on cars dont even put out that much.... due to traction issues, never really had the chance to see whta it would do at the track... I did manage a 8.66 @ 84 in the 1/8 with a 2.19 60. ft.
I would really hate to see the car go, but if that is what it take to get a 7.3 in my driveway, then so be it.
