??? I have been told many times that what Ford puts on the door sticker is LAW & can't be changed. If you do, your insurance won't cover you & you can be sued.
Maybe you should think twice before you put the wrong tires on your truck.
I've been looking at this same issue for a while now. The stock size is 265/75R16E. I want to go up to a 285/75R16 but there are few choices in that size that are load range E. For now I'm inclined to go with BFG All Terrains, most of my driving will be on road but I want something decent for winter and off road conditions too.
Before you change tire size you may want to visit this site and check the proposed tire with the tire that is called for by the manufacturer. If you get too far off what is called for by the vehicle manufacturer you could cause handling problems or brake problems.

While that site recommends staying within 3% of stock, the size I'm looking at is 3.63%(or about 120% of their maximum recommended change) larger, a change of 1.2" in diameter. If I wanted to go with a 255/85R16(I can't find one E rated anyhow so it's not an option) it would be narrower but taller than stock and the change would be even larger at 4.3%. I don't think that going to the 285/75 size is too extreme of a change.
Wish I would of know about that Tire Calculator. My winter/studded tires are 4.65% difference. Maybe next year I will look at another pair. Cant afford the E-Range studded tires a second time around this winter.
