Can any of you guys with an F-350 dually tell me what you run with in your tires?
I just bought a '77 F-350 dually with a dump bed. I have no manual, no door plate, and no idea how much air to put in my tires.
These are my tires:
Font
7.50-16LT Load Range E
maximum load single 2780 lbs
maximum load dual 2440 lbs
at 75 psi
Rear
7.50-16LT Load Range D rear
maximum load single 2440 lbs
maximum load dual 2140 lbs
at 60 psi
Also, I was wondering why the load rating goes down for dual? Doesn't seem intuitive. Does it have to do with spacing? Heavily loaded tires bulge outward and rub together?
The inflation pressure varies a little bit by wheel base and GVW (this is from my copy of an owner's manual)
DRW 35-50 PSI front, 35-45 PSI rear
On the rating, for that position it's actually higher. SRW 2440 max, DRW 4280 max (2 X 2140).
