If it is, yes they're hard to find. I got this one last year from one of the members of the board for free, I am trying to get a quote to have it rechromed. I hope it doesn't cost too much to have mine done. It's a pretty straight piece and if it turns out to be to too expensive to have it replated I'll clean it up and paint it.
well ,the pic you sent is the only other i have seen so i cant say...but i cant think of any other part on the truck that i cant buy with no problem....even the cab.....supply and demand...up gos the value????????
I just want an idea of what I am looking at to have mine replated. I realize prices vary in different parts of the country. I am just looking for a ballpark figure.
There one item that just as rare, the stainless windshield trim, no one reproduces that either. Ilya will add panel truck seats and rear doors, both of these are very rare items too.
the trim level that included bumper guards might have included windsheild ss trim as i have the original but its a little rough so installed front glass wout sstrim. i would love to find out what that delux trim package included.i remember color match inside door cover panals...not the aftermarket ones that you can buy now...iv had this truck 30yrs ...2 wreaks...3 rebuilds....same motor..239fh
Ilya, 51panelman, probably will be back on later today and tell you about the Five Star cab options. He's more tuned into the '51-52 model years, I am more focused on the '48-50 model years, the nicer looking design I think the Five Star package included the ss windshield trim, the door panels with door handles, dual door locks, dual wipers and special hood trim. This trim package was only offered for the '51-52 model year. The grill guard, I think, was an option for all five years of the Bonus Built run, 1948-52.
This shows all the options but sadly the bumper guard wasn't one of them. I had 3 5 star cabs and none of them had it. I wonder if a Mercury version was ever produced?
Those probably come apart somehow. I would say a ball park figure for those three pieces would be $75-$90 each piece.
You might even push $100 each.
I had an estimate on a 50 ford speaker cover on a car for $85
