Does anyone have any idea what the clicking sound is that I am hearing from the rear ac/heater in my 2002 explorer. If you do and know a fix I would love to make an attempt.
It is your rear ac/air intake acutuator. I have had 2 replaced under warranty. It is located on the driver side in the rear of the truck, under the internal hatch switch. Follow the noise to an air inlet. A very comman problem.
From what I have been told it its a pretty expensive repair. Refridgerant has to be evacuated and recharged. It is the Blend door that is clicking. Mine started clicking after the warranty expired. I only use the Cold air in the back, so while in the cold position I unplugged the motor. No power...No clicking, though I now only have cold air in the back.
Mine is clicking all of the time. Took out the fuse, until I get around to fixing it. Just the bride and myself, no real push, would just like to have everything working.
