Noticed yesterday on the thruway that my engine had a little knock to it when underload. In the past i've heard that the octane level is what is causing this.....what do you all think?
Try on every 5th or 6th tank of gas using Gumout or STP Injector cleaner in conjunction with 93 grade (premium) gas. Yes it's gonna cost a few bucks extra, but it seems to do away with the knock. I get a knock at startup if I run 87 for several tanks without running one tank of 93. It's the same in my brothers Dodge ram 1500... seems to be something with the 87 octane. However, to my knowledge, this knock is not damaging to our engines.
