Finally got a chance to post up a few pictures of the progress I've made on the restoration of my 77 Shorty. Still along way from a test ride but headed in the right direction. Suggestions always welcomed.
Wow I like that ride. I'm a big fan of 73-79 and you have a real good looking one underway. I wish we were closer I wouldn't mind checking it out. Definetly keep us posted and good luck with the ole girl.
thanks for taking a look. Those are Hedman Hedders, item #89260. With the exception of a little interference with the rear engine plate they fit nicely. The gang at Hedman have been excellent to deal with.
I plan on sand blasting the hedders then Powder Coating them High Heat Stainless Steel color powder.
I'm told that the copper gaskets are far superior than the paper ones that come with the hedder, so I'll give it a try.
Never mind the truck,..Awesome Garage!!!
Just kidding, the truck looks like it's going to turn out great with your attention to detail.
Keep us posted.
Just added a few more pics of my project. Got my intake back from the machine shop having it boiled out and the surfaces cleaned up so I was able to get my carb put on. I'm hoping to fire it up this summer but the "honey do" list is cutting into my play time. Next is getting the vacuum lines plumbed and a rad back in.
Nice looking job it's nice to see that you are paying so much attention to detail. Who is doing your powder coating? I might need to take a visit to get a few small pieces done in black for the Harley.
Spent the weekend installing polished stainless exhaust so I put up a few new pics in the gallery. Exhaust isn't finished yet, I'm waiting until the box is sitting on it to get the right placement for the tail pipes.
awesome job so far! so much easier to install the exhaust system from the top instead of the bottom and with SS you won't have to do it again for a very long time.
