Hello all, I have a problem when I first start my truck and try to leave without letting it warm up. when I start to go down the road before the PSD is warmed up it will act as if it is running out of fuel. When I restart and let warm up it will run fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Bought a new fuel filter but have not installed yet.
I'm sure the "new user" moderator will scoot you over to the general diesel section.......be prepared to give information such as number of miles on the Odometer, if you're the original owner (probably not), how long YOU'VE had the truck, any other symptoms, etc.....You'll be greeted by a moderator soon with a welcome message, and if you're not helped within a couple of days.....try to post your question...with the information I advised you....in the general diesel forum......
....and Rusty will think glow plugs are like spark plugs (which they're not) and give you advice like that... (I'm just kidding Rusty)
Post the same Q in the area that most fits your model PSD: we have 6.0, and 7.3 PSD areas and some of the good folks in those places just don't have time to stray outside much.
oh yeah, and some more info would be good too (like when was the fuel filter changed last?) . Ususally a clogged filter will run bad even after warm too...
lets see here.... glow plugs.... spark plugs... spark plugs are for gas engines and cause the piston to go down evey power stroke and glow plugs are for initial starting of a diesel engine which i have and had the same problems he is having and a relay and 5 plugs fixed it.
