E brake light

OK, heres one for you. My emergency brake light won't go out. It's not on and I felt the brake calipers after running the truck for awhile and they where cool. It doesn't throw a code either. I checked the switch and all seems to be fine (not lose and plunger works). It stayed on when I disengaged the brake the last time I used it and won't turn off. The E brake works when applied it's just that annoying bright light. Any suggestions, besides cutting the wire for the light.

Thanks for all the cool stuff on this site!

My guess would be that the switch has just gone bad. I know you said the plunger works, but that doesn't mean an internal connection wouldn't be broken. I'm not positive how the switch works, but logic tells me that when the brake is on, it completes a ground and turns the light on. Try unhooking the switch to see if the light goes off. If it does, your problem is most likely in the switch. Check around for some pricing, and it may be worth it to replace the switch before you dive much deeper into it.

My guess would also be the switch.I would pull the switch, unplug it.Then touch the 2 wires together and see if the light goes out.
