Updated Alternator
Am in the middle of rewiring my 55 F100. Running a 351C with an old type alternator with the external voltage regulator and would like to update to a new 2 wire type alternator with an internal regulator. The engine is out of a 71 Gran Torino. Anyone know what alternator I should be looking for in particular?

As long as you can bolt it up and the crank pulley speed keeps the alt from over reving, it really doesn't matter. I haven't seen a 2 wire, but 1,3,5 and 7 I have seen. One being the easiest for installation, 3 being a bit more to do. 6g alts should all be 3 wire (one large wire goes to the battery, another smaller goes to the battery and the last goes to the cluster.)
