break in/head gasket torque

I posted this on the yblock site so I'll post here too. I am breaking in my 54 F100. I torqued the heads then started the engine and ran it until it got to operating temp. Then I let it cool down and retorqued the heads to spec again. I now have a couple of hundred miles on the truck (the first hundred at under 50 mph, then another 100 below 60). The question is whether or not to retorue the heads at about 500 miles or just drive it forever.

Anyone have good or bad luck with either method?

With fel pro gaskets you don't have to re tork but with any other gasket you should only have to tork it once more after it gets warmed up then it should be ok, the 500 miles is just the break in period for the motor after a rebuild and don't baby it drive it 65 and 70 just make sure you adjust your speed up and down about 5 minuts apart until the motor is broke in.
