Are you looking to go for an original restoration Stix? There are several resources for parts, big and small. Give us an idea of what you're working with and what your goals are and we can get you started in the right direction.
Thanks for replying. Actual what i have is a nightmare. My truck is a 1971 Ford F100 1/2 ton pickup, it is built on a 1975 Ford F250 3/4 ton 4x4 chassis. It is powered by a 1969 Ford 390 V8. My plans for this are to restore it to a more driveable condition. New paint, New interior, New tires, ect. I didn't bye this I traded it for a car i had that didn't run. This truck starts and run fine the body needs some work only one spot of rust (Right front body panel). This is my first Ford truck. I want it to look nice inside and out, not show quality but nice.
1) A mistake a lot of people make when they buy something to restore is they take it apart as soon as possible.
My suggestion to people is:
Buy something that runs, was registered and is driveable to have some fun in it first.
IMO this is the way to get into something for the right reasons. Once you have been driving it a couple of years and having fun in it,doing the odd thing to make it look nicer or fix for safety reasons.... Then and only then consider a major restoration to it.
I hope you are in this category
2) Please ....when you make a thread about something... put the topic in the title.
As much as the word Help indicates you need help...... Note: we are already here waiting to Help people..that's what we do and is un-necessary in the title.
Besides letting us know what the main gist of the thread is before we open it ......it also helps other people find the thread if it has to do with the same topic....( ie: Restoration Process )
Yea thats what I'm planning to do with my 72' f-100 ranger XLT I just bought. It has 68,000 miles on it and has been garaged for thirty years. I'd say a 98% rust free truck, jus need to get those support brace pieces from LMC to repair the rot on them. It is a very very good resto candidate, buuut I'm going to drive the living daylights out of it through the PA winters. I'm planning for it as my daily driver, nice.
