glass is a pure or nearly pure fused compound Si O2, a brick is a sintered (not fused)mixture of compounds with no specific proportions basically a manmade rock. Granted the majority of a brick is composed of a mix of silicon containing materials as is most of the earth.
Glass is a supercooled liquid.
PS: try this on for size. You can break a window with a beer bottle, but you can't break a piece of Corelle dinnerware with a hammer.

That's a classic argument, fact is no one has been able to prove the very slow moving liquid theory since they have never been able to find a piece of historical glass that shows any measurable flow has occured.
