I tried to search for this, but either I'm a moron, or I'm not allowed to search this forum.
Anyway, I'd like to upgrade the subwoofer in my 2000 Eddie Bauer Expedition. It has the Mach sound system (although the CD Changer just crapped out on us, so...) and the 8 inch sub doesn't do much for me way back there. I know I can't be the only person who wants to do this, and I know a few of you must have done something similar, so who can point me in the right direction?
I have no problems doing fiberglass, building enclosures, etc... I just wanted to see (before I start disassembling our new car ) what you guys had done.
I've heard of people taking the stock sub and enclosure and cutting it to make a 10" sub fit, but the stock enclosure is a bit tricky to get out. On my '01 I made a 1.0 cf box to fit under the 2nd row seat behind the drivers seat. Sounds great with a 10" JL in it. I also put an 8" JL in the center console. There is a complete article on how to install and enclose an 8" speaker in the center console without losing any of the storage space.
I tried, but it's on a different forum and this system won't let me post the link. Do a google seach for fedexpilot and subwoofer and you should find an article on it.
